Hedwig is a creative initiator who consciously delegates tasks and responsibilities but values team performance. He is a manager with track records in most management disciplines and is a customer-oriented marketer, skilled in Information Technology and Logistics.

After completing his studies at the Hotel Management School Maastricht in 1979, Wassing joined KLM, where he worked for 20 years. In 1997, he moved to Krasnapolsky Hotels & Restaurants NV as the Commercial Director to facilitate the merger between Krasnapolsky and Golden Tulip (now NH Hotels) In 2000, Hedwig became a partner in the startup Clicketing.com, overseeing the global marketing activities of Leonardo Media BV. From 2002 until the end of 2005, he served as the Manager of Business Development at the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions. From 2006 to 2014, he held the position of General Director at @Leisure / Belvilla.
