Sonia shares her journey from observing racial inequity as a child through to her starting an educational consultancy to ensure, “the future is anti-racist.”  Her company, Ascribe Educational Consulting, works with leaders in education and corporate organisations around the world.  She shares her vision on how equity and humanity are so important for all of us together.  We have a fun and challenging time discussing some real-life cases experienced recently.  This is a must-listen episode for anyone seeking more diversity and equity in their business.

Sonia Lewis isn’t new to heart work, at age 7, she challenged school officials when she refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance. An over-achiever, she excelled through school and college, earning dual degrees in History and Psychology from Spelman College, and a Master’s degree in Education from San Francisco State University. A married mother of 6+4+3+3 is a master at juggling people and personalities. In 2009, Sonia took the leap into entrepreneurship with ASCRIBE Educational COnsulting, where the focus is educational equity. Sonia has managed to marry equity and social justice work and is on a mission to pass on skills to the younger generation so they can courageously stand in their voice to change the norms that have harmed/oppressed and denied access to power.
