Menno shares his journey of discovering his true power as he has travelled throughout the world. He discovered that his power was being a pilot for large, complex projects.  He tells the story of what a ‘project pilot’ is during the conversation. We have fun talking about why projects fail and what executives can do to manage these risks and improve their chance of success.  Menno is contributing to the Sustainability version of the Simplicity Scan and Sprint.

bio

Menno does not fit in a box, yet he entrepreneurs out of a portable office. After completing their studies at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Menno and his wife Alexandra decided to explore the world and other cultures together. They were both convinced you can have a dual career, raise children and happily live together while exploring the world we live in.

After laying a foundation in ICT, Business Consultancy and Project Management at KPMG in Europe and New York, Menno started his own business in Latin America & the Caribbean; started collaborating with several local entrepreneurs and a global project management Training & Consultancy company. After various client engagements he realised his natural professional role is Project Pilot. As a sustainable project pilot Menno now provides online support for project teams to achieve sustainable results.

While living with his family in Cuba, Menno decided to turn his business into an online business, which his clients were not very enthusiastic about until Covid-19 hit the world in March 2020 when suddenly everybody wanted to move online. He now continues his online business from Europe benefiting from many years of online working experience.

Menno holds the following project management certifications: PMI-PMP (2010), PM4R (2012), GPM-b (2014), AgilePM (2015), PSM I (2019), GPM360 (2020), SPI Coach (2021)

Menno loves sailing, tennis and walking his dog in Rome (when there) to hit his daily 15,000 steps target while observing and photographing surprising things that he encounters.
