Aligning Strategy and Self for Transformational Impact

with Stéphanie Martellozo

The Business Simplicity Podcast hosted by Chris Parker

Episode #217 published on 26 June 2025

This episode explores the intimate link between strategy, brand, culture, and personal transformation. Chris Parker speaks with Stéphanie Martellozo, founder of Battements and member of the Enablers Network, about how real change happens inside organizations – by first happening within individuals. Their conversation unfolds as a compelling reflection on the contrasts and connections between corporate goals and human experience.

Stéphanie brings a rare depth to the discussion, combining a background in brand and marketing with a deeply personal coaching practice. Her early experiences in global corporations exposed a disconnect between strategy and internal development. This dissonance sparked her lifelong commitment to aligning organizational transformation with personal growth.

Listeners will gain insight into what it really takes to transform an organization – from culture shifts and leadership development to the emotional realities of change. Stéphanie and Chris discuss how joy, suffering, and love coexist in authentic transformation and how working at the intersection of inner and outer change is both strategic and sacred.

The episode speaks directly to leaders managing complexity and change. Whether facing burnout, brand fragmentation, or internal resistance, the conversation offers practical and profound pathways forward. It resonates with those seeking clarity and presence while navigating transformation across silos, platforms, or personal thresholds.

Hello, this is Chris Parker with the Business Simplicity podcast. I just had an amazing conversation with Stéphanie Martellozo from Battements.fr, who is also a co-coach at Enablers Network.

[00:14]
We explored strategy transformation related to brand and culture, and went deep into shifting individual behaviors in an organization. It was marvelous.

[00:27]
Stéphanie Martellozo, why would this be valuable for people to listen to?

[00:36]
I think we talked about the experience of deep transformation, and the contrast between the joy, love, and the suffering of it. I’m saying this with a big smile because I think both of us are very aligned in what it truly means to transform a company—from a strategic level to a personal level. I think we both love it, and that might be the greatest value of this conversation.

Welcome back to the Business Simplicity podcast. This is Chris Parker and I’m talking to Stéphanie Martellozo, who is with Battements. You can find them at battements.fr. We’ll include that in the show notes.

She’s in France and we are both members of the Enablers Network, a vibrant and dynamic community of thinkers and doers in leadership development around the world. Stéphanie also runs her own collective, Battements, working with people across the whole spectrum—from strategy to individual coaching.

[02:13]
Stéphanie, maybe just give us a little insight into your journey to starting this collective and what you’re doing there. Then I want to dive into how coaching connects to strategy.

[02:34]
Thank you, Chris. Very happy to be with you. We were just talking before the recording about coaching grounded in strategy, and that’s really about my journey.

[02:49]
When I started working, I worked at a spirits company called Bacardi Martini. It was an amazing experience in leadership development, training, and knowledge. However, what I noticed was the disconnection between the internal development and the external message of the company’s strategy. I worked in marketing and, as an employee, I had opportunities to grow. But these internal and external dimensions were not connected.

[03:43]
For example, I learned how to pitch in a training session, but that wasn’t aligned with presenting the strategic plan a month later. This disconnection stuck with me, even at age 20.
